
The 1840s Plaza consists of several prominent historic structures in the heart of Baltimore's Museum Row. The complex, a designated Baltimore city landmark, provides an alternative tourist destination spot for visitors near and far to Baltimore's Inner Harbor. Fava Building in 1840s Plaza. City Lites boasts a fun lounge-like atmosphere complete
with overstuffed couches and the historic White Tower Diner,
a centerpiece attraction when the building housed the Baltimore City Life Museums.

Gardens on the Plaza
The
promenade from the Fava Building to the Carroll Mansion is lined with boxwood
and flowers appropriate the 1840s period. An herb garden sits next to the Carroll
Mansion and signs tell the historic uses of the plaza. The landscaped gardens
are ideal for cocktail receptions and outdoor wedding ceremonies.
The Carroll Mansion is a public museum named for its most famous occupant, Charles Carroll of Carrollton, the only Catholic and last surviving signer of the Declaration of Independence. Tours cover all aspects of the building's history and the lives of those who lived here. The Carroll Mansion may also be reserved as a reception location or for meetings and conferences.
